Utilization Rate

Utilization rate is the percentage of a team member's available working hours spent on billable client work, calculated as billable hours ÷ total available hours × 100.

The percentage of a team member's available working hours spent on billable client work: billable hours ÷ total available hours × 100. Agencies track utilization rate to balance staffing against demand and identify when it's time to hire or when capacity is being wasted on non-billable work.
